ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the value and disadvantage of micro-mirror in the intracranial aneurysm surgery.@*Methods@#Micro-mirror was used to assist microsurgical clipping to 36 intracranial aneurysms in 31 cases, of which 3 were carotid-ophthalmic artery aneurysms, 3 anterior choroidal artery aneurysm, 11 were posterior communicating artery aneurysms, 7 were middle cerebral artery aneurysms, 10 anterior communicating artery or anterior cerebral artery aneurysms, and the others were a posterior cerebral artery aneurysm and a posterior inferior cerebellar artery aneurysm. The micro-mirror was used before and after clipping to observe the anatomic features of necks hidden behind and medial to aneurysms, to visualize surrounding neurovascular structures, and to verify the optimal clipping position. Intraoperative indocyanine green fluorescein angiography confirmed the success of sufficient clipping.@*Results@#All aneurysms were clipped successfully. The parent arteries were occluded temporarily in 26 cases, and 9 aneurysms ruptured during the operation. Postoperative follow-up lasted from 2 weeks to 1 year. After operations digital subtraction angiography (DSA) were repeated in 10 cases, computed tomography angiography(CTA) in 21 cases, and no insufficient clipping or occlusion of parent arteries were revealed.@*Conclusions@#Micro-mirror assisting microsurgical clipping to the intracranial aneurysm is conducive to accurate clipping, and is a convenient and practical operation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To screen and confirm cell fusion by DNA technology of parentage identification based on detecting of short tandem repeats. Methods With 20% polyethylene glycol (PEG)-6000,human myeloma cell lines and health individual peripheral blood mononuclear cell were fused. Then selected by hypoxantin, aminopterin, thymidin (HAT) medium, and fusion cell were sub-cloned.Morphology of fusion cells was checked by regular microscope.Concentration of DNA was compared to parental cells.Allele genes, identified by short tandem repeats,of fusion cell line were sequenced and compared with each other. Results The fused cells from myeloma cell line and peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) were slightly larger than primary cells, and the proliferation cycle was not changed significantly.DNA concentration of the fused cell DNA was increased by two times.Sequences of short tandem repeats (STR) showed that the fused cell included all original genetic materials of parent cells. Conclusions DNA technology of parentage identification is a convenient and reliable method to screen and confirm fused cell.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the role of serotonin(5-HT) in obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD) and the difference in platelet 5-HT content between OCD and healthy controls, the obsession and the compulsion subgroup. Methods The concentration of serotonin (5-HT) in twenty-seven patients with OCD and twenty-seven patients without OCD were detected in the study. Results Platelet serotonin level in patients with OCD ( ( 139 ±172 ) μg/L) was lower than that in patients without OCD ( ( 248 ± 215 ) μg/L), and the differences were significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The present results support the hypothesis that 5-HT hypofunctionality contribute to OCD. And the differences between the obsession and the compulsion subgroup in the role of 5-HT are significant.

ABSTRACT

Aim To investigate the effects of new derivatives of 1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione on angiogenesis in chick chorioallantoic membranes(CAM). Methods The blood vessels of CAM were calculated to determine the antiangiogenic effects of different new compounds. Results Among the 18 new derivatives of 1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione , compound 1,2,3,4,11 and 13 showed significant inhibition on angiogenesis of CAM.Conculsion The 6 new derivatives of 1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione screened out in this experiment may be novel angiogenesis inhibitors.
